President`s Report
Spoke with the regional rep for the landlord. Got bill for last two months rent $23k. He said we should hear from them this week. They are deciding on a case by case basis, who will owe what. They have $16k earnest money (from 14 years ago when lease stared).

We need to come up with a contingency plan should we lose our space. We would lose a lot of our things. Friends will help us move what we can (chairs, lights, electronic equipment, pianos), but we'd need to have a storage space for it (needs to be air-conditioned). Judy R and Richard are looking into possible spaces.

Should we set up a committee to look for other spaces for The Studio. Steve sees that it is a buyers market, need to look at the build out costs which we can not afford right now. Makes more sense to consider extending our current lease. They would rather have the hope of rent than nothing at all.

Hoping the landlord will let us stay. "I do not think they will" Hoping to get a reduced rent and 3 months free. Steve suggested saying that owned months could be tacked onto the end of the lease. Steve also has some storage space in Mesa that The Studio could use, The Studio has insurance to cover potential damage, etc.

Some Broadway theaters are not planning to reopen until 2022!

Harry and Steve think we are in a strong position. No tenants anywhere will be thrown out.

At the Herberger they really do not see any shows happening anytime soon.

Hopefully our good relationship with the landlord will help us get through this.

Judy L we may also start looking at partnering with one or two other theaters to share their spaces, they are all facing the same thing as The Studio, along with the recent trend of diminishing audiences from before the present health crisis. Put together a list of possible partners. Richard will try to put together a list of possible partners. Kirt thinks the community colleges (i.e., Scottsdale CC). We need to work out the criteria for spaces we would want to use, space size, time frames, etc.

Judy L, Kirt and Richard will work on it.

Carol will contact the board when the landlord gets back with an offer.
